Mobil Jet™ Oil 387 is certified as an artificial High-Performance Capability turbine engine oil. It was announced in 2012, and now protects over 250 aircrafts worldwide. This oil is approved for leading aircraft parts and is approved by standards SAE AS5780 and MIL-PRF-23699-HTS. Several benefits of Mobil Jet’s Oil include seal compatibility, low-temperature fluidity deposit control, oxidative stability and wear protection. These benefits have yet to be accomplished by HPC or HTS turbine oil.
Leading aircraft parts will have numerous benefits from ExxonMobil Oil Corp’s Mobil Jet™ Oil 387. The low-temperature fluidity will allow start-up and will ensure effective lubrication of critical components with temperatures as low as -40 °F.
The deposit control in the bearing compartments, air vent tubes, and oil lines lessens the engine’s overall upkeep expenses. Lastly, it also has long-duration fluorocarbon compatibility. This will support with avoiding untimely or spur-of-the-moment engine repairs. It will not only aid in the prevention of leaks which may later lead to air craft delays and cancellations, but again, lessens the engine’s overall maintenance costs.
ExxonMobil’s global aviation lubricants sales manager, Vipin Rana, stated that,
“with its exceptional load-carrying capabilities and ability to maintain film thickness between moving components, Mobil Jet™ Oil 387 is well suited to protect the advanced gearboxes used in PW1100G-JM and PW1400G-JM engines from demanding operating conditions.”
Mobil Jet Oil 387 has been approved by General Electric Aviation, Rolls Royce, Honeywell APU, UTC Aerospace Systems APUs, Generators and Starts, and now Pratt & Whitney.
