Robertson Fuel Systems (RFS), A HEICO Ohmite, and Vector Aerospace have completed a major milestone toward Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification of their Crash-Resistant Fuel Tank (CRFT) for the Airbus AS350 light single helicopter family. After a successful completion of a 50-foot drop test which demonstrated the tank’s ability to withstand impact without any leakage, thereby helping to prevent post-crash fires. Flight testing of the AS350 CRFT is now underway at Vector’s Langley, BC, facility.
The energy storage dimensions of batteries must counter balance for their heavy weight, which results in battery-powered air travel not commercially practical. As energy density is improving companies are seeing this as a possibility. We have seen some improvement with Airbus’’ E-Fan being the first electric plane to successfully fly across the English Channel.
Tecnam’s P2006T piston-twin reached a program momentous on March 10 with the delivery of the 200th component to Polish flight training academy and long-time customer Bartolini Air. Being on time for delivers is something that is very important in this industry because many airplanes cannot leave the ground without certain parts. Airlines want to continue flying customers, so sometimes they will do whatever it takes to get a part there at a certain time, even if that means paying double the amount.
Flight testing is very necessary in any aircraft production program, there are prototype airplanes that are designed specifically for flight testing to ensure everything on the aircraft is functioning and responding properly. For example, testing how much weight an airplane can take on board is a very important because most importantly people want to transport goods with them when traveling and knowing how much is safe is very important. Also maximum speed is another test that needs to be conducted to ensure that the airplane can reach its maximum speed without any risks.
Traveling in an aircraft is something that every person needs to experience. The great technological advancements and technology that allows people to fly thousands of miles in the air can truly make a first-timer feel either fearful or in awe.
The Raytheon AIM-9X is the primary weapon for the F-35. However, there is a bit of a setback with these new weapons. During the test flights with the new weapons, the F-35 pilots experienced increased turbulence. The needs for stronger wings to carry the AIM-9Xs were expressed and the existing wings were too weak to support the new dog-fighting weapon. Engineers have already developed a new outer wing that is tougher, but it must pass the flight test before the wings are officially manufactured.
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has put its Vegetation and Environment Monitoring New Micro-Satellite currently known as (Venus) to undergo rigorous test for max efficiency. The developers of this latest micro satellite have been a dual job between IAI and the National Center for Space Studies, a French space agency.

The KC-46 tanker programme’s cost was increased as a result of that promise. Frank Kendall revealed to Flight Global in his final speech as the undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics that the government could get a lower price for Air Force One by lowering the requirements.
