Embraer has Set Forth an Agreement with West Star to Over Haul their Aircraft Landing Gear
West Star has agreed to enter an agreement with Embraer to be given the opportunity to over haul their Phenom 100 and 300 landing gear. West star sees great opportunity for both parties with this pairing of services. Tom Hilboldt, the General Manager for West Star Aviation happily states that
“this expansion is going to give us the chance to offer one -stop maintenance, paint, avionics and interior refurbishment conveniently to our Eastern territory clients. Our plan is to break ground in fourth quarter of 2016.”
West star is to complete this performance in two of their locations in the US. One located in Grand Junction, CO accompanied by a following location in Chattanooga, TN.
The Grand Junction location will be broadening their current landing gear facility to make room for the latest project. The facility is said to be expanding to an approximate 21,000 ft² modern
“state of the art “building. Along with many more improvements the enlargement will also include chemical processing, plating capabilities, machining and additional painting operations. “
Many investments have been made by West Star to make this entire operation possible. Varying from tooling, fixtures, rotables and assesst to be able to provide both facility with all the correct necessities that they might require to complete the job.
The second West Star facility located in Chattanooga, TN will be expanded greatly which will be including a new modern facility in addition to the facilities that that currently pertain to them. The new facility is set to be just over 65,300 ft² which will be broken down into two areas. In the new hangar 40,000 ft² is to be used for clear hangar space and reserved 25,300 ft² for working office space.
Not only the Chattanooga facility adopt the hangar but is also building a 41,519 ft² painting facility that will be able to cross draft prep bay, downdraft paint bay and be provided with offices. In addition to both facilities West Star continues to over haul Hawker, Challenger, Learjet and King Air landing gear as well.
