Airbus has announced that the company was able to secure 731 net orders for aircraft's in 2016 while delivering 688 aircraft's which is a net positive of 8% for the fiscal year. Boeing in comparison delivered 728 and logged only 668 net orders. Airbus Commercial Aircraft president and Airbus COO Fabrice Brégier expressed great pleasure while discussing his the company exceeding expectations on delivers and orders citing that he believe Airbus could also lead Boeing in deliveries. However Brégier believes that with Airbus having the biggest backlog that the deliveries will ultimately catch up. Brégier notes that the important takeaway from this achievement is that Airbus is growing and growing quickly. 650 aircraft's was the 2016 delivery target for Airbus initially however that increased to 670 as recently as November and with a healthy backlog of 6,874 aircraft valued at over a billion dollars list, Airbus is ending the year with a book-to-bill ratio of above one.

The latest update was that the Canadian air force has ordered 16 Airbus C295W, they want to utilize them in missions such as the search and rescue missions. Those airplanes will be modified as such for these purposes by Airbus Defense and Space and PAL Aerospace.
West Star has agreed to enter an agreement with Embraer to be given the opportunity to over haul their Phenom 100 and 300 landing gear. West star sees great opportunity for both parties with this pairing of services. Tom Hilboldt, the General Manager for West Star Aviation happily states that
Able Aerospace Services, a Textron Inc. company and Bell Helicopter have teamed up to allow for Able’s production to expand with minor adjustments. They have agreed to broaden their production in Calgary to hopefully expand their production in more of Canada. Both companies have come to an agreement to that will benefit both parties by trading.
A sudden demand for Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines has made them the foundation and upbringing in the manufacturers civil aerospace division. Rolls Royce has openly stated that its outlook prospects are going to be left “unchanged “in either direction for the remainder of the year 2016. Per Rolls Royce officials these latest events will not be affected by Rolls Royce’s downfall in their business aviation division. The Rolls Royce company has a plan to save and achieve the saving goals for their year beginning with making some changes in their senior management staff. An approximate 400 additional jobs have been cut in the marine division and will be accompanied by a following 600 layoffs scheduled to be made in May. With such cuts and savings their goals are to save a total of £25m in its troubled marine division for the year 2016.
In recent news Scientist, have begun to create a drone that requires no cord for rechargeability but a magnetic source. This drone will be able to be charged while in the air and no need for it to be lowered at any time allowing it to be in air for longer periods of time. Its means of recharging would be to solely fly over a support vehicle that would dish out magnetic waves.
Boeing has allegedly received an opportunity to supply UPS with 14 more aircrafts to enlarge their requests of 747-8Fs aircrafts. Despite Boeings rough start of soliciting this 747-8s model aircraft they have increased their back order from 15 to 29 total which will extended their production time to roughly another two years. The given time for the air crafts to be delivered is from the year 2017 through 2020. Adjusting routes to be reassigned that will enable capacity to the company’s busiest lanes. Due to the latest planes being made Boeing will be conducting training and operation efficiencies to properly train their pilots to be able to operate the 747-8 fleet as well as the 747-400 fleet.

It has considered a variation of the BvS10 combat vehicle which was the successor of the BV206s. The BV206s was used in the U.S. Army in Alaska as well at the Marine Corps.
Kris Osborn wrote an article for the National Interest talking about how Bell Helicopter’s new V-280 will change the game on the battlefield. This new V-280 will have a 360 degree sensor that has been influenced by the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter also known as the Distributed Aperture Systems or DAS. The V0280 is considered to be a tiltrotor aircraft.
